I was playing through Dead Space 2 again, when I peered into an overflowing sink in Chapter 2, and saw what appeared to be thin chunks of meat floating around. But these were not any regular chunks of meat, and were actually wriggling and twirling around, like they were trying to swim. I dubbed these little buggers "roots", and classified them as a variation of the swarmer, but similar to the corruption. I don't have any picture available, as I didn't have my Hauppauge recording at the time, but you can see for yourself, if you choose too. In Chapter Two, you will encounter two survivors, one screaming about her mother. In the room being referred to, is a Puker and an overflowing sink.

"Roots" have not been seen anywhere else, as I did not…
I picked up a copy of WIRED Magazine to read today, and while I was flipping through, I saw what appeared to be a Leaper. Turns out my eyes hadn't deceived me, and there was an entire article on the anatomy of Necromorphs (Leaper and Puker), and how the design team came to making them. Have any of you seen the article? Thoughts on it?Read more >
I just played the Dead Space 2 demo and I have to say I am thoroughly impressed. The first couple rooms with the dementia-based flash-back gave me the skeeves. The narrow corridors initially didn't frighten me, but when I was attacked from every direction by Pukers and Slashers, I was running back through rooms to be sure I had some distance. Absolutely phenomenal. Brand new scares and weapons had me trying new tactics. The slightly different control scheme isn't a bother, nor is the non-dynamic weapon cursor.
It's safe to say I will purchase this game on January 25th.Read more >
First, I'd like to apologize for anyone getting let down, thinking I was reporting on news of an actual film.

But the thing is, after seeing the Halloween video with Isaac mutilating a pumpkin, I actually sort of got a preview of what the actual film adaption would look like. If any plans to film a real movie for the series ever go through, I imagine it'd follow the Ishimura's story. I'd also like us to brainstorm how the plot would unfold, actors, etc.
A while back I had an idea for a death scene. Not a mind-blowing one but something interesting nonetheless. I feel that the possibilities for creative deaths at the disposal of the Pregnant were not explored deep enough, and as such I believe that listening to this idea could get your mind going on some very creative death scenes. The situation unfolds as detailed below.
The Pregnant inches closer to Isacc as his R.I.G. delivers one of its final warning flashes of deep red light, one of the few sources in the vicinity. The crimson-like color bathing the room is not unlike that of the crimson liquid to bathe the floor within moments. The hulking mass unbeknown to Isacc is prepared make the ultimate in unnecessary sacrifice. The preparations …Read more >
