Chapter 8: Through the CEC is the eighth chapter of Dead Space 2.
This chapter spans the entire CEC facility and part of Fuel Processing.
Summary
Chapter 8 involves Isaac traveling through the main CEC area, in which he goes through many small, narrow rooms, then seeing Stross and Ellie, who are split by a wall with glass. Ellie tries to help Isaac to catch up with them, by stopping the mechanics and gears in the Zero-G area. However, Tiedemann reactivates them, and forces Isaac to either use stasis or to move carefully around the mechanics. After the Zero-G maneuvering is done, he ends up on the other side of the walled area, and catches up with Ellie, after dealing with some injured necromorphs.

Trivia
- The second Nest is seen in this area.
- After the first room with the store where Isaac stumbles you walk into the room with the window you will see something fall. That something is the Female Tripod.
- At the beginning of the chapter you can see an Infector creating Enhanced Slashers in the room behind the glass. Once you enter that room, an Enhanced Infector will "run" across on the floor. This is one of the rare occasions where a Necromorph will not attack you in close proximity, unless you attack it first.

- The Vintage Suit Schematic is found in the node door (right after the first Necromorph encounter).
- The Large Med Pack Schematic is found in the room where you meet Ellie and Stross.
