I want to create a page similar to survivor encounters, giving a space on the wiki to all the NPCs appearing in Dead Space Extraction. Can I do this? It's inside of the wiki's standards?
What's on your mind?

I don't know why this user took it upon themselves to do such a thing, but this anonymous user made edits to dozens of pages several months ago that changed the grammar from present tnese to past tense. These edits were done with a very simple find-and-replace with no regard to context or proper syntax, and has left several pages messy and hard to read. I propose that this user's edits be undone with no compromise because said edits were not only entirely unnecessesary, they made the wiki harder to read and more confusing regarding tone and tense. This is not the Star Wars wiki, there is no reason to use past tense when the games clearly indicate they take place in the future and a divergent timeline from our own.
I believe more proper links and sections need to be added(to the appropriate pages of course) show casing information concerning obtainable in-game items such as weapons, suits, and ect. If there are links to these pages I have not found them except through the search engine. This is very time consuming and really should be remedied . For a example look at the Silent Hill wikia it's very thorough. I'd do this all myself but I'm lacking proper internet for my computer and only have data internet for my phone and editing pages on wikia is very very difficult and buggy at best sadly. By the way please excuse my late replies I'm not on here much due to my current internet woes. So please don't be discouraged by me taking a while to get back to a comment.
So in light of Dead Space being free to download I'd thought I'd smoke some dope and play impossible mode, get back into my teen years for a few days. Anywho, I was curious about the Marker because I really think it makes no sense.
So the Marker was man made and they activated it on the planet, which caused the Hive Mind and the first outbreak. (I'm not into DS2 and DS3 lore so I don't follow the whole convergence and living planet thing, to me the Hive Mind is the big boggy man of the Necromorphs). But how did the Marker cuase the Necromorphs when it's used to create the Dead Space the puts the Necromorphs to sleep. What exactally did the Goverment activate to start the outbreak if the Marker being activated is the stop of all the horror? Why didn't they just write the story as if the Marker was of true Alien background and the Gov found it, moved it, put it back and said no one fucking go to this system. It would have been more intreresting if an old Alien race found the Necromorphs long ago and made a device that put it to sleep and if removed from the amplifiying pedestal, caused people to undergo the "Make us Whole" mind fuck until people put it back as a saftey system. I mean that was the logic of it until they added the convergence bull in DS2. But the whole it was man made from a real marker on Earth just doesn't make sense to me.
So I was looking at the old 2010 version of the Marker page and I found there is so much more information then it has now. http://deadspace.wiki.com/wiki/Red_Marker?oldid=39980
I noticed that there was some nice information and Trivia on the old page. Was that lore nulified with the newer games? I also want to say that the tidbit about the chanting when next to the Marker was really intreresting trivia. I didn't even know about that so sure enough when I got there, I stood and listened and wow. That's pretty cool. Why is this not in the current Trivia. I mean this is the whole point of Trivia right, fun little facts you may have not known?
I'm going out on a limb here, but would anyone like to collaborate and actually WRITE the Lore of Unitology? I think it would make a nice addition to the universe, since even though we only see the cover/title once or twice in Dead Space 2. What do you guys think?
I've been visiting this wiki often lately to research the DS series for a fanfiction. I've read the page on Karrie Norton, presently the only place a White Marker is mentioned, and even a previous discussion thread about whether the White Marker should be given an article of its own, where the verdict (reached three years ago) was no. I'd like to request one, even though still very little is known about it. Just so that speculative fans like me don't have to go picking through half a dozen other articles only to find out how little info there is. That's the point of a wiki, after all, right? To simplify lengthy scavenger hunts about obscure story elements... Just some screen captures of Vandal's vision and a billboard or two from the game's setting, and the bare facts that a White Marker is shown but not explained.
Regarding theories about it, I'd try to figure out what the game developers were thinking when they put it in. Is the White Marker just supposed to be a red herring, something that looks different but means nothing? Is its color simply symbolic of the Unitologists' hopeful ideas about it? (In my fanfic, I compare the Black and Red markers to succubi because they, imo, have the silhouette of a woman's dismembered torso; a white Marker would resemble up-stretched angel wings!) Or, as more cannon installations to the "Dead Space" series will be needed to clarify, is its white color indicative of some different origin or function from the Black and Red Markers? I.e. in my fic, I might toy around with the idea of an anti-Marker, which is why I was looking for an article elaborating on the White Marker in the first place, to see if there was already any cannon along those lines.
I hope she is live and with ellie and still has her brain
Hello
I think you missed a hint. At a moment, Isaac is dragged out in Space by a long tentacle (there is a nest you must shoot) and then, you must go back on Titan through a long corridor door. But the entrance is blocked by laser (you must move it with thrusters). But, if you take too much time to do it, it is not a conversation that triggers but something like a developper voice (it is not the same texture). Maybe you could report it, i could not listen. It is very strange.
there arent any articles on what happens to isaac or carer when their body temp. reaches zero, i know it seems insignificant, but i guess there must be others out there wondering what i am wondering right? i was hoping to see if there could be something done about that. please let me know what you guys think. thanks :)
Having been to another wiki that has achievements for active participation, I recommend that a similar reward system be put in place that encourages users to contribute to this wiki. Badges can range from Unitology Artifacts (for commenting on a Marker Article) Earth Gov Tags, a kinesis module for having a reply- ETC. I believe that this could help boost your wiki activity!
Can someone make a video of Nathan's death if you fail to shoot the tentacle? I can't find it in google and I cant find any PS3 version of the game for me to record so can someone record it? Thanks.
Hello,
I'm a fan of Dead Space and I try to contribute to this wiki but so far I didn't add much. I want to thank you for your work on this wiki, it's nice to get more info on parts of the franchise.
I do have a suggestion concerning the page layout. Mainly the transparent effect.
Against some background images it's harder to read the white text. Using simple solid color would make it easier on the eyes.
As for the background images, if I understand it right, you are using randomly selected image? If you possibly decide to use the solid color option, give me a resolution and I try to make/find one image that would have most stuff to the sides.
I think it would make the wiki look more uniform and easier to read.
Thank you for reading and even bigger thank you if you decide to try these suggestions.
Going through this WIki (THough I'm new so sorry if I step on anyone's toes) It seem's like a lot of Pages that shouldn't be, are lacking. Off the top of my head are Weapon part's pages (What they do, where you can find them). I'm currently working on the ones I know what they do and how they work but any help would be appricated. As I can't format well and don't know all of the parts and how they work
For everyone here who's played Awakened, we obviously know that Randall is not the cult leader (and infact might possibly be the voice we hear over the audio, or a member of the same group as that guy) so why is the page still listing him as the cult leader? I'm confused and I don't want to edit it and piss anyone off, but seriously, are we going to keep it like that forever? Or are we going to change it soon?
It says on the page for Marker 3A (Dead Space 1's marker) that it was built by EarthGov, but in DS3, we find out it's the Sovereign Colonies doing. What should we do about it, because I myself am not quite sure what we should edit it to.
Dead Space 3 has Blueprint type weapons, which are Full Weapons, specifically made from blueprints (similar to DS1 & DS2), So I think these blueprint weapons need a section in the Template:WepList (the Navbox at the bottom of every weapon page).
ALL Blueprint Weapons:
Pitch Black 392 • Intimid8r • Shootbanger • ... and Tubes • Sweep the Leg • Ship Repair Tool • Slam Chop • Disemboweler • Tre Pound Seven • Desperation • Infected Dissolver • Identify and Destroy • Shocker • Codecow • Basic Line Gun • Bolas Gun • Contact Beam • Flamethrower • Force Gun • Ripper • Heavy Metal Thunder • Hot Death • HUN-E1 Badger • Javelin Gun • Line gun • Medic Support Handgun • Mjölnir • Pulse Rifle • Shotgun • Show Stopper • Seeker Rifle • Detonator • Rivet Gun
DS3 ONLY:
Pitch Black 392 • Intimid8r • Shootbanger • ... and Tubes • Sweep the Leg • Ship Repair Tool • Slam Chop • Disemboweler • Tre Pound Seven • Desperation • Infected Dissolver • Identify and Destroy • Shocker • Codecow • Bolas Gun • Heavy Metal Thunder • Hot Death • HUN-E1 Badger • Medic Support Handgun • Mjölnir • Shotgun • Show Stopper
Weapons used in DS3 and other games:
- Basic Line Gun - DS1|DSE|DS2|DS3|MOB
- Contact Beam - DSE|DS1|DS2|SEV|DS3
- Flamethrower - DSM|DS1|DSC|DSE|DSA|DS2|DS3
- Force Gun - DS1|DSE|DS2|SEV|DS3
- Ripper - DSM|DSE|DS1|DS2|DS3|SEV|MOB
- Javelin Gun - DS2|SEV|DS3
- Line gun - DS1|DSE|DS2|DS3|MOB
- Pulse Rifle - DS1|DSE|DS2|SEV|DS3
- Seeker Rifle - DS2|DS3
- Detonator - DS2|DS3
- Rivet Gun - DSE|DS2|DS3
As you can see, there are Guns that are DS2/3 only as well as DS1/2/3, not to mention the differences in all the other games/add-ons/comics.
My Suggestion: Completely re-work the Navbox. Set it up as each section, each individual game. Each section would also be Hidden automatically, and each section can be un-hidden without un-hidding the other sections. One way of doing this would be to create new Navbox Templates for each individual game, and then in the WepList template itself, add the other templates. If someone is REALLY good at Wikia coding, they could perhaps set it up so that when you add a definition to "Era" it works like a category tag, where the WepList automatically takes "Weapons" and places them in the "Era" Navbox, inside of "WepList" -- though that might be a bit tooooooooo much.

I propose that the references to the USM Valor logo be removed from the trivia section of Robert Norton's page, due to the fact that it is unknown if the logo is for the USM Valor and may most likely be the logo for Earth Defense Force Navy and not the USM Valor. And that the USM Valor page also be revised to show this.
The uniform that Norton wears during DS3 and DS: Liberation has the "valor" logo as well as a the USM Eudora logo on the right side of his chest. The Advanced Soldier RIG from Dead Space also has the "valor" logo on which in and of its self does not prove that it belongs to the valor or not. In Dead Space: Salvage the Marines that enter the Cargo Bay have the "Valor" logo on the chest plate of their Soldier RIGs.

So, Pitch_Black_392 is a Blueprint, and I'm starting there. This is what I'm currently going to try and refit ALL the DS3 Blueprint pages to resemble, but I'd like to see your suggestions on improvements to this template/suggestions on how to adapt this template to normal DS3 weapons. Also, I wanted to double check, it appears I broke the Wikia page, since the "Recent Wiki Activity" box and stuff are all below the content of the page instead of to the right... help?
Thanks!
