The design of the RIG's helmet is somewhat skull-like and the suit itself is completely different to the other RIG suits, all of which feature several lines across the helm for vision, whereas the military suit helm features only two eye slits, glowing blue. An air filtration unit and COMLink system is mounted on the mouth of the helmet. The eye lenses consist of ballistics-treated mirronite connected to a helmet recorder and interface. It lacks a visible holographic projection system seen on other RIG's. The boots and leg armor include gravity boots and impact dampeners.

It's possible that this model was given to elite marines or marines performing a boarding attack due to its ability to function in vacuums and Zero-G environments.

The Level 6 Military RIG is the military variant of the Resource Integration Gear. It is given to military personnel and is used primarily for combat. Manufactured by the Earth Defense Force, the suit features a built-in stasis and kinesis module system.

Description

The Soldier RIG consists of a layer of bone white ultra-hardened ceramic armor, with plates of black ironium beneath. These 2 materials make the RIG extremely tough and able to survive under most hazardous combat conditions. The RIG can be purchased and worn by Isaac, and is standard issue for the Marines of the USM Valor.

Trivia

  • The Soldier RIG costs 99,000 credits and is available for purchase after loading a "Cleared Game" save. Once loaded, head towards a Store (which is first seen near the tram at Chapter One).
  • The Soldier RIG is the second best RIG in the game with a total of 30% damage resistance, and the first being the Advanced Unitologist RIG which has a total of 60% damage resistance.
  • Some say the RIG resembles a Imperial Stormtrooper uniform from Star Wars.
  • The Marine's rig also resembles Lorica Segmentum armor worn by Roman Soldiers.
  • Isaac's Advanced Soldier RIG differs to some degree from the Marines' RIG such as the lack of mouth covers for the Marines whereas it is available for Isaac. It can be inferred that Isaac has an updated version of the RIG or potentially an aesthetic preference made by the developers for simple individuality.
  • This RIG could be a prototype or a specialised RIG due to the fact that it differs from the Marines RIGs and it is more bulky in appearance. Not to mention the fact that the RIG has the word "Advanced" in it and seems to offer better protection.
  • It has the same shop picture as the Level 5 suit (Advanced Engineer RIG).
  • It does not have a visible holographic display/projector seen on other suits. It is possible that it was integrated completely into the suit.
  • It has less visible armor and armor plates than the other RIGs.
